Construction & Maintenance Updates

The Municipal Water System’s Valve Maintenance Program is underway in the North San José/Alviso area as of May 2008. This project involves exercising each of the valves in the potable and recycled water systems by fully closing and reopening the valve to ensure it is functioning properly. Additionally, the exact location of each valve will be collected using GPS equipment.

You may experience a momentary interruption of water service or slight variation in water pressure when work is being done in your immediate area. This work is not expected to interrupt your water supply for any significant amount of time, and should not create any noticeable change during general uses of water (sinks, toilet flushing, etc.) However, we do want to make sure you are aware of the potential for momentary interruptions/pressure variations in the event you operate an industrial/production process which is particularly sensitive to such changes.

For more information on the entire Valve Maintenance Program, read the article in the Municipal Sewer & Water E-zine.
