Notice of Rate Increase
Increases to the Municipal Water System’s potable and recycled water rates were approved on June 17, 2008. Potable water quantity rates will increase 8.8% for all uses, tiers and zones. Recycled water quantity rates for all uses will increase to $65 per acre foot ($0.149 per HCF). Meter charges will rise by 8.8 % for both potable and recycled water service. All rate increases become effective July 1, 2008.


Sierra snowpackAll customers in the Santa Clara Valley are encouraged to make a voluntary 10% reduction in water use. Conserving voluntarily now can help ensure an adequate supply this summer.

Free Water Fixtures
Free water-saving showerheads & aeratorsSan José Municipal Water System has FREE water fixtures for its San José customers, including shower heads and kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators. Customers can pick them up in person between the hours of 8 am – 5 pm M-F at the office at 3025 Tuers Rd. The fixtures are also available at Santa Clara Valley Water District headquarters located at 5750 Almaden Expressway. Customers are limited to 2 shower heads, 1 kitchen faucet aerator and 2 bathroom faucet aerators.
